South Central PaARTners places skilled teaching artists in meaningful, in-depth residencies in K-12 public schools, senior centers, and community organizations throughout Berks, Lancaster, and Schuylkill Counties.
Our residents come from a variety of backgrounds and include writers, dancers, theater practitioners, musicians, storytellers, painters, sculptors, book artists, and more.
Our work includes arts-in-education advocacy; training and educational opportunities for our artists and teachers; community outreach; and rich hands-on learning opportunities for our graduate and undergraduate students at Millersville University.
In addition, we host the annual regional finals for Poetry Out Loud a national poetry recitation competition sponsored by the National Endowment for the Arts and the Poetry Foundation.
